Touchscreen TechnologyBy Robert A. Leggio Jr C.T.S
Touchscreen technology is one of the most innovative and exciting investments that any business can adopt and implement with confidence. With this technology there are no buttons to push, keypads to maintain, and no additional equipment to install. Every interaction is handled by the screen, providing the user with a simple and easy-to-use interface.
Touchscreens have grown to be one of the most recognized, computer on-screen sensors that have ever been invented. Touchscreen computer monitors, I-pads, notebooks, and other electronics have been steadily improved upon thanks to the invention of touchscreen technology. Clients, individuals, and businesses alike can access any application by simply tapping an icon from the interface, or on the active links that are located on the screen. Navigation is made easy by touching or dragging desired icon applications.
Restaurants experience quicker customer service time, whether customers are paying for a ticket, or reserving seating space. There is very little or no wait time at the cash register. Large commercial hotels also benefit from the use of touch screen technology. During the time of year when tourists are looking for a room to rent, it is important to have access to room pricing close at hand. Touchscreens allow hotel owners to book a room over the telephone quickly by touching a few select icons while talking to the customer, and customers can be checked in and out in only a few minutes. Everything that is needed to make any business run smoothly can be done on screen. There is no wait time and nothing to input. Customers can easily and quickly check into their rooms, pay their bills, and order room service in short amount of time.
Almost every bank worldwide has easy to use touch screen ATM terminals. Customers can deposit funds into their account, transfer funds, withdraw funds, and close their account all from the touch screen selections that are provided by their bank. This saves both the bank and the customer a lot of money and time. Large department and grocery stores are experiencing an increase in business, and in customer satisfaction, due to the installment of touch screen checkout stations. Customers no longer have to wait for cashiers to check them out; they can do it themselves at any self-checkout counter that is located at various spots in the store. The machines accept cash or debit and credit cards. Any change due is also dispensed at the same terminal, thus completing the entire transaction on a single piece of equipment.
Many businesses are using touchscreen technology to train new employees on various software and programs. Tests can be done on screen and feedback can be displayed within seconds. Many touch screen programs are interactive, meaning it will grade, correct, and re-test individuals if instructed to do so. Touchscreen technology is used in the automobile industry as well as in hospitals and state and federal institutions. Public and private franchises have disposed of the push button methods of technology and are now modernizing to touch screen for efficiency, and accuracy.
